The role

Position Overview

Temporary Part Time position (up to 24/05/2027) at Lithgow Community Health Centre, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. Applications close 25/06/2026.

Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme available.

Remuneration

Social Worker or Occupational Therapist Level 1/2: $38.51–$47.97 per hour + rural incentives.

Registered Nurse: $40.02–$56.19 per hour + rural incentives.

Psychologist: $40.57–$59.38 per hour + rural incentives.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive clinical mental health services to people experiencing mental illness or disorder in a least intrusive, collaborative and recovery‐oriented manner. Actively involve nominated carers and families, promote inclusivity, support rehabilitation, and encourage self‐advocacy while fostering empowerment and independence through evidence‐based interventions.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications as Social Worker (eligible for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers), Occupational Therapist and registered with AHPRA, Psychology and registered with AHPRA, or Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA, including completion of a new graduate RN program or 12 months experience working as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline‐specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with mental illness.
  • Ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision.
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, good interpersonal skills and computer competence and literacy.
  • Experience working in collaborative partnerships with a range of service providers to tailor care plans and enhance cultural sensitivity.
  • Commitment to Aboriginal mental health and wellbeing principles and practice improvement.
  • Working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
