Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal High Voltage Power Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, technically sound primary electrical designs from concept through to construction support.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in producing detailed engineering studies, including system studies, earthing system designs, and high voltage cable sizing. They will also possess a solid foundation in conductor and busbar sizing, understanding of substation equipment layouts, and preparing high voltage equipment specifications.
In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with construction and operations teams to ensure designs are practical, constructible, and continually refined through real-world feedback.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience performing in a similar role in the HV electrical industry
* Hands on experience in either Arc Flash, Insulation Coordination Studies or Earthing
* Power system study experience (not reviewing) including lightning, lighting, short circuit, load flow etc
