Position Purpose
Coordinate and lead the safe execution of protective coatings activities as part of the client's Engineering‑Asset Integrity Program. Develop detailed work packs aligned with engineering recommendations, client work management processes, SAP workflows, and AIMS priorities. Act as the key link between the Project Manager – Asset Integrity and Execution Supervisors, ensuring clear communication and collaborative planning. Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement by mentoring team members and fostering strong relationships across operational and maintenance teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Work Pack Development & Execution
* Develop and manage protective coatings work packs in coordination with the Structural Maintenance Coordinator.
* Walk down defects to define scope and create work packs and work method statements.
* Generate tender documents for vendor submission related to fabrication packages.
* Verify and document completed remediation activities, ensuring all work pack documentation is archived upon completion.
Planning & Scheduling
* Create baseline scope lists for upcoming shutdowns.
* Schedule shutdown programmes using Microsoft Project and/or SAP.
* Document manning hours and personnel requirements to support trade and resource planning.
* Create resource profiles for accommodation and logistics.
* Support budget planning, resource allocation, and monitor planned vs actual costs for each work pack or defect.
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
* Liaise with stakeholders across production, maintenance, G&TS, and the structural design team to ensure alignment and prevent delays.
* Attend weekly planning meetings and contribute to pre‑read schedules for accuracy.
* Collaborate with department leaders to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Coordinate outage windows with production and maintenance for surveying and scanning activities.
Execution Oversight & Quality Assurance
* Supervise Execution Supervisors to ensure safe, high‑quality delivery of works.
* Conduct workshop inspections during coating phases for quality assurance.
* Monitor and review site safety, KPI targets, construction performance, and hazard identification audits.
* Ensure plant is returned to BAU or improved condition, including housekeeping standards.
Compliance & Standards
* Ensure compliance evidence is captured and stored (e.g., RPEQ sign‑off, QA/QC documentation).
* Maintain familiarity with BMA‑PRO‑0069 and relevant Australian/ISO standards.
* Manage training compliance for direct reports using a dedicated program‑specific training matrix.
Continuous Improvement
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster collaboration across teams.
* Work closely with the design team to identify and implement structural upgrades.
Reporting Line
Reports to Project Manager – Asset Integrity.
Key Interfaces
Project Manager – Asset Integrity, Execution Supervisors – Asset Integrity, CVM Engineering, CHPP Maintenance & Operations, SAP Administrators, MECoE.
Qualifications
NACE Accredited Coatings Inspector (preferably NACE 2).
