Purpose of the Role
* Lead and manage Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design and construction projects from initiation to completion.
* Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Collaborate with clients, consultants, internal teams, and subcontractors to integrate design and construction activities seamlessly.
* Provide value engineering solutions, design reviews, and technical support to optimise system performance and cost efficiency.
* Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and preparation of handover documentation, including as-built drawings, compliance certificates, test reports, and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with at least 3 years' post-graduate experience.
* Proven experience managing HVAC design and construction projects end-to-end.
* Exposure to Commercial, Education, Health, and Residential sectors.
* Strong knowledge of NCC, BCA, AS1668, and other relevant Australian Standards.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Duties & Responsibilities
· Review and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, and project specifications; identify opportunities for design implementation; and prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions in line with project requirements.
· Manage tender documentation, variations when design changes, and project budgets to ensure resources are effectively allocated and financial controls are maintained.
· Develop and implement detailed project plans, including scheduling, procurement, and resource strategies following contract award.
· Conduct design reviews and propose optimised designs and engineering recommendations to deliver HVAC solutions that are energy-efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with Australian Standards.
· Oversee and coordinate the installation, assembly, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems and associated mechanical plant in accordance with approved designs and Australian Standards.
· Prepare Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and commissioning checklists to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure all mechanical services comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Building Code of Australia (BCA), AS1668, and relevant workplace health and safety regulations.
· Prepare as-built documentation, compliance certifications, commissioning reports, and maintenance manuals to support long-term system performance.
· Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, verify quality of works, and resolve technical issues encountered during installation or commissioning.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, and contractors to integrate HVAC systems into broader building designs.
· Support sustainability initiatives by implementing engineering solutions that improve energy efficiency and minimise environmental impact.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
