About the role

You will play an important part in assessing health technologies and policies, applying economic evaluation methods, and producing high-quality research that supports health care decision making.

As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for:

- Reviewing and analysing health economic literature.

- Conducting statistical analyses and developing economic models.

- Leading financial and budget impact assessments of health technologies.

- Preparing research reports, journal articles, and presentations.

- Mentoring junior health economists and supporting project delivery.

You will also represent RACS at conferences, seminars and meetings, and work closely with colleagues, surgeons, and external clients to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong knowledge of evidence-based medicine and systematic reviews, as well as hands-on experience in statistical modelling and health economic analysis. A solid understanding of health systems and cost structures, either in Australia or comparable jurisdictions, is important.

We are looking for candidates with a tertiary qualification in health sciences, medicine, public health or epidemiology, combined with strong quantitative skills. Postgraduate study in health economics, statistics or health technology assessment will be an advantage, and familiarity with software such as Excel, TreeAge or @Risk will also be highly regarded.
