Company DescriptionPurple Support is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers for In-Home and Community Activity Support who can provide a person-centered approach that empowers the independence and choice of our participants.We have participants that require assistance and support with daily living and community participation. Both short and long shifts are available, allowing a great work and lifestyle balance.
Key ResponsibilitiesWorking various shifts in a week: morning, afternoon, active nights, and weekendsSupporting participants to live as independently as possibleOutings in the community include going for walks, shopping, individual and group activities in an activity centre, and more!Personal care and support with domestic and household tasks such as menu planning, cooking, and cleaningKey requirementsMinimum Certificate III in Community, Aged Care, Disability or equivalentPrevious experience as a Support WorkerMinimum 3-4 days availability during the weekMust have a reliable vehicle, Australian Driver’s License, and ability to travel with comprehensive insuranceCurrent First Aid CertificateCurrent Working with Children’s Check and NDIS worker screening checkRights to work in AustraliaA genuine desire to provide quality care and enhance the lives of our ParticipantsReliable, responsible attitude towards work and able to commit to regular hours ongoingGood interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to provide a person-centered approach that empowers the participant’s independence and choiceFlexibility to work shorter or longer shifts that meet the needs of our clients i.e., morning, day, afternoon, evening, night, sleepovers, active nights, weekends, public holidaysDesirable CriteriaWorking experience with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) participantsMental HealthPsychosocial DisabilityPurple Support can OfferCareer pathways – opportunities for permanent workLearning and DevelopmentStaff support & regular follow-upsFlexibility in working hours to suit work-life balance needs
