This position reports to the Principal Scientist and is part of the Research & Development team located in Adelaide, South Australia and will be full-time on-site. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Develop new cell-based assays on TGR's immunoassay technology platforms, with a primary focus on Alpha SureFire assay development.
- Work with a broad range of human and animal cell lines to validate new SureFire assays.
- Understand the inner workings of TGR's novel intellectual property and assist in the expansion of TGR's CaptSure singleplex and multiplex technology.
- Collaborate with a highly motivated and talented R&D team and present your work formally to the group.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing/Quality/Logistics as new products/assays/technologies developed by R&D are formally launched to market.

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- A person with a Bachelor of Science or Biotechnology with Honours.
- More than 3 years of post-graduate experience in a biological laboratory.
- A strong background in cell biology, protein chemistry and assay development is highly desirable.
- The person must be willing to work with human and animal cell lines and capable of carrying out, with limited supervision, most or all required tasks.
- The person must be willing to work in a team environment and to adapt to varying work demands. A team first mindset is an imperative.

**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:

- High level of proficiency with the use of Excel and GraphPad Prism.
- Presenting lab data in a sophisticated manner for technical data sheets, website and formal presentations.
- Developing novel products/assays specifically for commercial use with an understanding of the pharma/biotech customer demographic.
