What you'll be doing
Phlebotomist's in a hospital plays a vital role in patient care by expertly collecting blood samples for diagnostic testing. They combine precision and professionalism with compassion, helping patients feel at ease during the procedure. Working closely with doctors, nurses, and lab staff, phlebotomists ensure accurate sample collection and timely data entry, making them an essential part of the healthcare team. It’s a rewarding, people-focused role where every day offers the chance to make a meaningful difference.

* Certificate III in Pathology, Pathology Collections or Pathology Assistance, and/or previous experience in a pathology setting.
* Demonstrated ability to manage tasks in a demanding environment where there are competing priorities and time constraints.
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, internal and external.
* Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues.
* Proficient computer skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy and the ability to operate and maintain pre analytical equipment.
* Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information in a laboratory setting, following relevant legislation, policies, and requirements.
* Willingness to participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts
* Current NSW C‑Class driver’s licence (P1 or P2 accepted) is required. Interstate C‑Class licence holders must obtain an NSW C‑Class licence within three months of appointment. Learner licences are not accepted. Alternatively, applicants must have the capacity to travel to any site or location within the operational area for a shift as required.
