We Are Key Assets Australia

Key Assets Australia (KAA) is a leading not-for-profit, children, family and community services agency, founded in Australia in 2007. We provide foster care and family services. Operating across all states, ACT and Norfolk Island, our purpose is to achieve positive and lasting outcomes for children, families, and communities. To achieve that, we need people like you!

We pride ourselves on being inclusive and embrace and celebrate the diversity of all people within our communities. Our diversity helps us provide the best support possible to carers, families, children and young people and all of our external stakeholders.

A little about the role

As a Social Worker at KAA, you'll be at the heart of creating safe, nurturing environments where children and young people can thrive. Working closely with foster carers, children and colleagues, you'll champion the wellbeing of every child in our care and ensure their voices are heard. This role is dynamic, rewarding, and deeply impactful.

Key responsibilities include:

* Build strong, supportive relationships with foster carers and children in their care through regular visits, calls, coaching, and collaborative goal-setting.
* Ensure children and young people's safety and welfare is always the top priority, seeking their input on decisions affecting them, providing support in an inclusive and trauma-informed way, and responding promptly to any concerns or incidents.
* Monitor and review the suitability and competence of foster carers to ensure they provide safe, healthy, and nurturing environments, and facilitate contact with children's biological family as appropriate.
* Maintain accurate and timely records in KAA's systems to support Foster Care Assessments, children's care packages, incidents or concerns, and actively participate in discussions with key stakeholders, both internally and with external agencies.
* Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by applying the Key Assets Practice Framework and trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches.

The base salary for this position is $88,090.08 - $94,788.72/annum (based on 1.0 FTE) + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
This position is full-time, ongoing.

About you

You're passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and thrive in a role where collaboration, responsiveness, and resilience are key. You bring professional expertise and a values-driven mindset that aligns with our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and child safety.

We're looking for someone who:

* Holds a recognised qualification in Social Work, Human Services or a related field.
* Communicates simply and effectively, both in writing and verbally, building trust and understanding with people from diverse backgrounds and with varying experience.
* Has experience working with and/or on behalf of children and families, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development.
* Has a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Including an openness to travel and commitment to a rotating On Call roster to support carers during out of office hours.
* Can balance administrative tasks and direct support with care and attention to detail.
