Your new company
This busy division of a Federal Government Department is responsible for Australia's security operations and policies, including bilateral relations, relations with regional and international organisations, free trade negotiations as well as overseas aid programs.
Your new role
Your new role as an Executive Assistant will see you supporting the Director and the successful applicant will be required to provide high-level executive support services and play an important role in the effective management of the office and across the Division.
Your day to day duties will include:
* Diary management and associated meeting arrangements including coordinating briefings;
* Managing incoming correspondence including emails, briefs, letters and appointment requests;
* Receiving and screening of telephone calls to ensure appropriate and timely responses;
* Managing and establishing strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally;
* Coordinating travel allowances and reimbursements;
* Maintaining records in accordance with departmental policies and procedures;
* Managing items via the Department's Ministerial correspondence and Cabinet document tracking systems;
* Actively supporting the Department's Executive Assistant Network.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have excellent interpersonal, communication and coordination skills.
You will have experience establishing good relationships with stakeholders and staff, build wide and effective networks of contacts, and adapt your interpersonal style to suit different people or situations.
You are an excellent multi-tasker, able to quickly adapt to new challenges and stay organised in a fast-paced environment. You have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to effectively follow procedures and policies.
Candidates with previous Federal Government experience will be highly considered for this role.
To be considered for this role you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
