About the TeamOur Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets. The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community. About the OpportunityThe provision of inspection, testing, and supervision of installations, repairs and maintenance to ensure the integrity, safety and operational availability of electrical infrastructure in compliance with Australian Standards, ARTC engineering standards and specifications, electricity distributor and NSW Department of Fair-Trading regulations. Support maintenance, calibration and operation of weighbridges, wayside devices, instrumented coal wagons and points condition monitoring equipment. ▪ Inspection, testing and reporting of the condition and suitability for continued use of electrical installations and equipment as nominated in maintenance plans.▪ Inspection, testing and reporting on compliance with Australian and ARTC Standards and Specifications, including workmanship and quality of new works installed by contractors. ▪ Performance of audits and inspections to ensure maintenance activities are per ARTC requirements and relevant statutory obligations.▪ Attendance as directed at major incidents affecting electrical installations as nominated in the ARTC incident management plans.▪ Investigation, site inspection and recommendations for reducing the incidence of electrical faults.▪ Supervise and inspect all new electrical installations, alterations, and additions, including existing equipment repairs and maintenance.▪ Support the installation, upgrade, maintenance, repair, and calibration of weighbridge and wayside equipment to ensure optimum system availability and performance while maintaining and updating all relevant documentation.▪ Identify and resolve weighbridge equipment and database failures to ensure optimum availability and integrity.Work closely with Operations and Safety to ensure that weighbridge operating procedures are implemented and complied with. Provide reports on the weighbridge equipment asset condition, reliability status, operator and customer rolling stock.▪ Review procedures and statistics to ensure the systems meet operating and customer requirements.▪ Support the weighbridges to ensure Australian Weights and Measure certification is achieved.▪ Manage upgrades, maintenance, repairs and calibration of cable testing on the ARTC network to ensure optimum asset availability and performance.▪ Liaise with electrical partners regarding maintenance and works scopes on electrical infrastructure in and directly adjacent to the ARTC network. ▪ Complete high voltage switching and supply as required.▪ Manage the installation, upgrades, maintenance, repairs and calibration of Instrumented Coal Wagon equipment on the ARTC network to ensure optimum system availability and performance.▪ Manage the maintenance, repairs and calibration of Points Condition Monitoring equipment on the ARTC network to ensure optimum system availability and performance.▪ Participate in an on-call roster to support electrical, weighbridge and wayside equipment.
