About the role

The Payroll Officer role is pivotal to ensuring accurate and compliant weekly payroll delivery for a 300+ workforce across varying divisions. You’ll contribute to ongoing payroll improvements and efficiencies in a growing business, working closely with our experienced Payroll/HR Advisor and the Finance and Human Resource teams.

This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership and thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment. If you’re a proactive and reliable professional with a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you.

The role is offered part time - open to flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

* End-to-end processing of weekly payroll for 300+ employees
* Interpretation and application of modern awards, National Employment Standards, and Fair Work obligations
* Employee onboarding and offboarding in payroll and HRIS systems (Employment Hero)
* Calculations for backpayments, workers compensation and terminations
* Professional handling of payroll-related queries
* Managing employee allowances, deductions and remuneration variations
* Manage month-end obligations including STP reconciliation, Payroll Tax and Superannuation obligations
* Maintenance of payroll records and compliance documentation

Key Skills & Attributes

* Prior experience in end-to-end payroll
* Solid understanding of payroll procedures, legislation and tax regulations
* Employment Hero experience preferred, but not essential
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving abilities
* A proactive approach to maintaining accuracy and efficiency
* Able to communicate well with employees and Managers across the business
