School of Dentistry Full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to 31 December 2029 Base salary will be in the range $137,542 - $158,351 17% Superannuation (Academic Level C) Based at our Oral Health Centre, Herston campus About This Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Lecturer to focus their efforts on leveraging their established record of achievement in teaching, research, and service and engagement in Dental Materials. In this role, you will coordinate or lead the activities of other staff, and you will have an active and effective record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor. Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Contribute to expansion of knowledge in the discipline, support ongoing improvement of programs to ensure they are engaging and contemporary, teach across different settings and develop innovative curriculum design, coordinate and deliver courses, maintain quality of courses, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Maintain an active record of producing research outputs, participate in applications for research funding as chief investigator, contribute to transfer of knowledge, undertake research to gain national and international recognition in the research area, initiate strategic collaborative research projects, and utilise best practice research methodologies. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, lead others in the responsible conduct of research, develop researcher capability, facilitate engagement opportunities for supervisees, manage employees and provide performance feedback as required. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You Completion of a PhD relevant to the field of Dental Materials. An established profile in teaching and research relevant to the field of Dental Materials. National recognition in the area of expertise, with an internationally developing profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journal and presenting at conferences. A strong record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding. Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups. A strong track record of course coordination and participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area. A solid record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion. A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.
