**Job Description**
The Australian Submarine Agency seeks to fill a Work Health and Safety Specialist position, requiring an individual with expertise in analysing complex safety issues. The chosen candidate will work within the Chief Operating Officer Division to develop and implement a proactive safety management system.
This role entails collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create a comprehensive safety framework for the agency. Key responsibilities include assessing and evaluating specialist safety strategies, projects, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
The successful candidate will lead human and physical resources, exercising people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes. They will also engage in complex problem-solving and issue management, coordinating detailed or sensitive projects to support ASA outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong Background in Work Health and Safety Functions: Demonstrated experience in analysing and reporting on complex safety issues.
* Extensive Experience in Analyzing Complex Safety Issues: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including work health and safety subject matter experts.
* Demonstrated Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of legislative frameworks, government direction, and policy requirements.
* Safety Systems Expertise: Knowledge of and experience in safety systems.
