Our client is a prominent supplier and distributor within the renewable energy industry in Australia. With a presence across the country and a strong foundation established over the years, they also offer system design and installation services for businesses, ranging from commercial to utility scale.
They are currently seeking a commercially-minded Senior Finance Officer (Management Accountant) to join their team in Crestmead, QLD. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional looking to broaden their experience in both financial reporting and management accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day financial operations and assist with month-end reporting and analysis. This role offers a great balance of statutory compliance and commercial exposure.
Key Duties:
* Month-End & Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Lease Accounting (AASB 16): Maintain the lease register for fleet and equipment and process monthly journals (Training provided if required).
* Taxation & Compliance: Prepare draft BAS, GST, and FBT returns for review by the Finance Manager.
* Financial Operations: Oversee accounts payable/receivable functions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
* Analysis & Support: Assist with the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis reports to support management decision-making.
Requirements
* CPA or CA qualifid or near completion (Studying)
* Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a commercial finance or financial accounting role.
* Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax requirements.
* Experience with AASB 16 Lease accounting is highly advantageous.
* Strong Excel skills and experience with SAP
* A "can-do" attitude with a willingness to learn and take on more responsibility.
