About the Role
As a Bricklayer, you will play an important role in delivering quality masonry work across a variety of residential projects. You will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other construction materials in accordance with project plans and Australian building standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials accurately and efficiently
* Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
* Measure, cut, and shape materials as required
* Prepare and mix mortar and other construction materials
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within project deadlines
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times
* Follow workplace health and safety regulations and site procedures
* Work collaboratively with supervisors, contractors, and other trades on site
* Carry out repairs, alterations, and restoration brickwork when required
* Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 1 year experience in bricklaying or masonry work
* Ability to work from plans and technical drawings
* Strong knowledge of bricklaying methods, tools, and materials
* Physically fit and capable of handling manual labor tasks
* Excellent attention to detail and workmanship
* Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment
* Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements
Licenses & Qualifications
* White Card (Construction Induction Card) – Required
* Valid Driver's License – Preferred
* Relevant trade qualification – Advantageous but not essential
