This role can be based in our national support office in Melbourne or also out of Canberra, requiring regular travel to Melbourne as part of this role.
About the Role
We have a newly created position for an Industry Relations and Policy Manager in our corporate affairs team, reporting to our Head of Government and Industry.
As a key member of our team, you will lead a small group and build strong relationships with key industry bodies, associations, and stakeholders relevant to our operations.
You will monitor and influence policy developments, advocate Bunnings' interests, and create a favourable external environment that supports Bunnings' strategic objectives and fosters positive industry relationships.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry associations and government officials.
* Monitor and analyse policy developments and assess their potential impact on our business.
* Represent Bunnings at industry events, conferences, and meetings.
* Prepare policy submissions, position papers, and briefing materials.
What You'll Need
* A degree in public policy, political science, law, etc., and recent practical experience working within government relations, public affairs.
* Experience in a similar role within the retail industry would be advantageous.
* Leadership and coaching experience, with a willingness to be hands-on when needed.
* Strong understanding of the Australian political and regulatory landscape.
* A proven ability to analyse policy and legislation and assess its impact on business operations.
