CatholicCare Tasmania is the primary social services agency of the Catholic Church in Tasmania. We have 60 years' experience delivering a wide range of services and support to improve individual, family, and community wellbeing. Our services are available to all with a particular focus on families, young people and children.
CatholicCare Tasmania's Inspire at Home Program provides residential care for young people aged 12 to 18, referred by Child Protection Services, offering a healing environment to support them in overcoming life challenges while in the Out of Home Care System. As part of the Child and Youth Services stream, this program aims to improve the wellbeing of families and children across Tasmania.
As a Key Worker in the program, you will provide 24/7 therapeutic residential care, collaborating with the Placement Lead and Therapeutic Specialist to create a safe and supportive home. Your role involves implementing therapeutic plans, promoting personal growth, and helping young people develop independent living skills, while building positive relationships with both youth workers and the young people in your care.
You will do this by;
* Working collaboratively with the Placement Lead and Therapeutic Specialist to ensure consistent and effective support for young people.
* Developing and maintaining positive relationships with Youth Workers to ensure smooth daily operations.
* Engaging with young people in a compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic manner.

Essential Requirements
* Qualification requirements: Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services or equivalent experience.
* National Police Criminal History Check: Satisfactory police check, to be completed on a 3-yearly basis from commencement. Crimes involving violence, aggression, drugs, fraud, dishonesty, and excessive motor vehicle related offences would be cause for discontinuance of employment
* Working with Vulnerable People registration: Must maintain current and valid Working with Vulnerable People registration; and must always carry evidence of this.
* Driver's License: Maintaining a current driver's licence is a requirement of this role

staff feel supported and respected? Please provide a specific example that also demonstrates your
ability to be flexible and responsive across different settings or roles.
1. Demonstrate experience and understanding of the principles which underpin working within a care
management model for young people.
1. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills which include the ability to negotiate, liaise
and consult with young people, other colleagues, and other service providers.
1. Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills including the ability to manage aspects of the
running of the house
1. Possess a sound knowledge of relevant statutory requirements, including mandatory reporting,
workplace health and safety, duty of care, privacy and confidentiality, children, young people and
families act and anti-discriminatory legislation.
