Our Industry partner, BERTO ENTERPRISES PTY LTD trading as FIRESTATION SPECIALTY BEER WINE BAR, located in the heart of Busselton, Western Australia, the Busselton Fire Station is a heritage-listed building designed in a low-key interpretation of the inter-war functionalist style of architecture.
Built in 1936, it served as an active fire station until 1990.
In the years that followed, the building became home to local art groups and charity shops, continuing its role as a hub for community connection and social welfare.
Through its reincarnation as Firestation Specialty Beer Wine Bar, we have breathed new life into this iconic space while honouring its historic roots.
The venue proudly supports local beer, wine, and food producers, aiming to once again become a place of central importance to the people of Busselton and all who visit.
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of dishes in line with the venue’s menu.
2. Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
3. Support menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and fresh local ingredients.
4. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
5. Assist in monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimising wastage.
6. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth operations during service.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.
2. Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
3. Ability to prepare a variety of dishes with precision and attention to detail.
4. Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
