Opening in early 2027, the centre will set the standard for quality orthopaedic care, supported by clinician input and world-leading technology. Once complete the centre will comprise of: Four contemporary operating theatres 38 overnight beds 20 chair day procedure and day of surgery lounge A dedicated entry and seamless support services integrated with St John of God Murdoch Hospital with the two hospitals connected via a linking bridge The new state of the art facility will have a unique presence in the growing Murdoch precinct that will embody sustainability and technology while delivering an unmatched patient experience. Your role As the Assistant Project Manager you will collaborate with the project team, Surgeon Management Group, external consultants, contractors, and SJGHC to support all phases of the project, including construction, operational readiness, and transition to operations. The positions will be offered on a fixed-term full-time basis, working 38 hours per week. The Position In conjunction with key internal and external stakeholders, define and document project deliverables. Develop detailed plans for each deliverable as required, including milestones, timeframes and budgets as necessary. Manage implementation with consultant teams & caregivers under the guidance of the Director Redevelopment and Clinical Services Manager. Preparation of financials and reporting, including the tracking of estimates, actuals and forecasts. Effectively resource, schedule, and coordinate project activities. Ensure that project documentation quality standards are met. Effectively managing project scope by ensuring that changes are documented, approved and registered. Manage Project Risk and Issues including identifying, registering, and driving treatment activities that mitigate project risks and resolve issues within agreed accountabilities. Perform secretariat duties for governance bodies as required. Support the preparation of project reports and other management products as directed by the project methodology. Assist in reporting to Project Governance bodies as required. Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to influence project outcomes. Effectively engage with stakeholders to ensure project expectations are understood, agreed and met. Liaise with and support Executive Sponsors and Business Owners in the achievement of objectives for design. Coordinate user groups. You will have proven experience in a similar role, delivering complex projects across all phases of the development lifecycle. A solid understanding of project management methodologies and tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are required. As a strong problem solver with experience working in collaborative, team-based environments you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels and clearly articulate the business context of projects. You can work independently, manage your time effectively, and meet deadlines. High computer literacy, including proficiency in the Microsoft Suite and other databases, along with well-developed administrative skills, is essential for success in this role.
