Operating under a lease granted by the Victorian Government, Port of Melbourne's assets under management include significant port land, wharves and channels servicing one of the nation's key trade gateways.

Port of Melbourne (PoM) is committed to ensuring its infrastructure management operations are sustainable, responsible and fit for purpose to support the ongoing and growing Port of Melbourne.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Asset Strategy Manager the role is dedicated to determining and optimising the overall asset investment and capital program for Port of Melbourne. The position supports defensible lifecycle modelling, strategic asset intelligence, and capital program prioritisation to ensure sustainable lifecycle costs whilst enabling safety, reliability and integrity of PoM's assets.

Your key responsibilities will be:
* Lifecycle Modelling & Intelligence: Operate and maintain lifecycle modelling tools, optimise degradation curves, and forecast asset performance to inform the corporate financial model and capital program.
* Capital Program Optimisation: Determine and optimise the overall asset investment and capital program, enabling better prioritisation and optimisation of program and long term remediation profile to support defensible investment decisions.
* Sustainability Integration: Develop lifecycle models that embed carbon, ESG, and resilience metrics into forecasts to ensure investment decisions align with corporate sustainability values and regulatory requirements.
* Data & Systems Enablement: Serve as the bridge to TechnologyOne, ensuring data is structured for defensible modelling and visualised via Power BI dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
ABOUT YOU
* Tertiary qualification in engineering or equivalent.
* Demonstrated experience in asset lifecycle modelling, whole-of-life costing, or infrastructure investment analysis.
* Demonstrated ability in commissioning and supervising engineering and asset management consultants and implementing recommendations.
* Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills.
* Proven ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties and highly developed people skills.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel) and asset management systems (e.g., TechnologyOne, strategic asset management tools).
* Knowledge of quality management concepts and practices.
