Aussie Painters Network (APN)is seeking an organised, people-focusedProject Coordinatorto support the delivery of hands-on career readiness and industry engagement projects with schools, and for our ongoing commitment to increasing engagement and support for women in the industry.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, purpose-driven environment and enjoys working with students, schools, and employers to create meaningful pathways into the construction and painting industries.
You will be based at our Salisbury Training Facility, coordinating project activities, liaising with stakeholders, supporting training delivery, and ensuring each participant receives the wrap-around support they need to succeed.

Position Overview
TheProject Coordinatorplays a central role in delivering APN's youth engagement and industry pathway project.
The position involves coordinating training sessions, managing communication with schools and employers, supporting participants, arranging work experience opportunities, and ensuring smooth day-to-day project operations.
This is a fast-paced role requiring excellent communication skills, strong organisational capability, and a genuine commitment to helping young people move into sustainable employment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
Plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities across multiple school groups and intake cohorts.
Maintain project timelines, attendance records, communications, and documentation.
Ensure program sessions, workshops, and hands-on training activities run smoothly at the Salisbury Training Facility.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a primary liaison for schools, teachers, and transition officers.
Maintain ongoing contact with local employers in the painting and construction industries.
Coordinate employer visits, guest speakers, and industry engagement activities.
Participant Support
Provide individualized support to students, including basic case management to identify barriers or additional needs.
Assist the Trainer and Assessor during sessions, ensuring students remain engaged, safe, and supported.
Connect students to support services, employment pathways, and apprenticeship opportunities.
Work Experience & Pathways Coordination
Arrange work experience placements with vetted employers.
Work closely with APN's recruitment arm to assist participants into employment or apprenticeships.
Monitor participant progress and provide post-placement support where required.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate project documentation, including attendance, outcomes, and employer engagement records.
Assist with project reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
Oversee project resources, equipment, and administrative tasks.
Skills & Experience
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience working with young people, schools, training organisations, or community programmes.
High-level organisation and time-management.
Ability to engage confidently with employers, trainers, and education stakeholders.
Competent with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and general administration.
Ability to provide support with professionalism, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
Highly Desirable
Experience in VET, employment services, youth programmes, or industry training.
Knowledge of the construction or painting industry.
Understanding of barriers faced by young people transitioning into the workforce.
Experience with project coordination or case management support.
