Why Join Us:
2025 is an exciting time to be joining us
Generous donations following the bushfires helped us realise our goal of building a Wild Koala Breeding facility. Named 'Guulabaa' (pronounced Goo-lah-bah), the complex opened in December last year and houses visitor-friendly Koala viewing platforms, interactive and educational exhibits and a shop. The Breeding Facility includes a state-of-the-art Koala clinic, and a laboratory for testing & scientific research.
We have also received funding to rebuild our Koala Hospital which will begin in May 2025. This project will ensure we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate and release our wild koalas. The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital is the oldest Koala Hospital in Australia and new retail, visitor experience and landscaping will showcase the continuing essential work we do to save the koala which are now an endangered species.
Every member of our team (staff and volunteers) is passionate and dedicated to saving and rehabilitating koalas. Join us, working in a unique environment and contribute to meaningful conservation efforts and make a positive impact on the local community.
