The Role
We're looking for a friendly, community‐minded Customer Service Officer to help create a welcoming, safe and positive experience for everyone visiting our leisure centres and outdoor pools. In this role, you'll support patrons with enquiries, assist with program registrations, and play an important part in maintaining a safe environment through active supervision and clear communication about safety expectations.
You'll also help with café/kiosk operations, keep accurate records, and ensure the Leisure Facilities Leader is informed of any operational or safety issues. Every day brings variety, and you'll be part of a supportive team that cares about delivering great customer service and contributing to high‐quality community facilities.
Your position will be based at Latrobe Leisure Morwell but could be required to work across our other Latrobe Leisure Facilities is Traralgon Churchill & Moe/Newborough.
About You
You're someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all ages. You communicate clearly and confidently, whether you're assisting patrons, resolving concerns, or guiding safe behaviour around pools and leisure facilities. Your positive attitude, initiative and comfort in approaching patrons help ensure everyone feels safe and supported.
You're reliable, organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a rostered environment. You manage your time well, record information accurately, and follow procedures that support safety, customer service and smooth operations. You also hold current qualifications in First Aid and Pool Lifeguarding, and you value working in a child safe, inclusive and community‐focused organisation.
You'll need
* The ability to effectively communicate face to face and via telephone to ensure a high standard in customer service.
* Experience in cash handling, keyboard skills and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated understanding of the basic principles of Occupational Health and Safety as they apply to this position's working environment.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and co‐operative as part of a team with limited supervision.
* Hold a Provide First Aid (HLTAID011 or higher) and Current Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Successful applicants are required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children's Check.
