Sandbar is one of Surfers Paradise's busiest beachfront venues, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. With a high‐volume kitchen, diverse menu and large team, we're looking for a strong, all‐round Sous Chef who can support the Head Chef and help lead the kitchen across all services. This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in rapid‐paced kitchens, is confident across all aspects of kitchen operations, and enjoys developing and leading a team.
You'll work closely with the Head Chef to manage day‐to‐day kitchen operations, lead the team during service, and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly across breakfast, lunch and dinner.
What You'll Be Doing
* Run and support breakfast, lunch and dinner service
* Support the Head Chef with daily operations
* Rostering and labour management
* Ordering and stock control
* Stocktakes and cost control
* Train, mentor and develop junior chefs
* Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation
* Ensure food safety and WHS compliance
* Lead the team during busy service periods
What We're Looking For
* Must have 2+ years' experience in a busy, fast‐paced kitchen
* Able to confidently run breakfast, lunch and dinner service
* Experience with rostering and budgeting
* Experience with ordering and stocktakes
* High‐level ability to train and develop a team
* All‐rounder who is confident across all aspects of kitchen operations
* Previous Sous Chef experience or strong CDP ready to step up
