This is a Recruitment Pool for permanent appointments at various hours per fortnight.

This is a recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:

* The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
* Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
* Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/05/2026.

Overview Of The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in our community-based infant, child, and adolescent mental health nursing service, you will play a vital role in supporting young individuals and their families. You will coordinate referrals, conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, and provide case management for complex clients. Your expertise will be essential in crisis management, program development, and maintaining a strong community network, all aimed at promoting mental health in children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate referrals for infants, children, and adolescents through the South West Mental Health Duty Officer role, ensuring prioritisation in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, crisis intervention plans, and risk assessments for at-risk individuals.
* Provide clinical case management services for clients and their families, offering ongoing support and information.
* Develop and implement mental health prevention programmes in collaboration with community stakeholders.
* Foster relationships with schools, hospitals, general practitioners, and community organisations to build a comprehensive support network.
* Participate in inter-agency case conferences and team meetings, contributing to ongoing evaluation and development of clinical practices.

Ideal Candidate

* Registered Nurse eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Extensive experience in community mental health, particularly in triage and case management.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for leadership and problem-solving.
* In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act, policies, and quality management processes.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Current understanding of legislative requirements related to equal opportunity and occupational safety.
* Valid C or C-A Class driver's licence.
