The Wangaratta Site Manager is a key member of the CopRice Manufacturing Leadership Team. You will work with a small site team of mill staff, customer service and maintenance to manage the full operational remit across the Feed mill. You will lead all planned production requirements, improvement activities and culture development while championing continuous improvement to uplift production performance, utilisation, throughput and equipment. You will also support logistics effectiveness for deliveries and vehicle utilisation, and foster a positive, inclusive and accountable culture across the mill.
Responsibilities
* Production: Own the performance of the site; develop and implement production plans and strategies to optimise production area resources; analyse the weekly production plan and adopt the optimal methodology for production, labour usage, supply chain performance and customer demand; prepare reports around KPIs, production data and the areas operational performance.
* Safety: Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures; conduct all systems and processes in a safe manner, eliminating hazards and risks where possible; manage incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, implement corrective actions and establish monitoring programs.
* Quality: Support the team to ensure that SFMCA, HACCP, SQF and GMP principles for the production areas are complied with and fully implemented; analyse customer complaints and non-conformances to develop and implement corrective action strategies to minimise occurrences; support the broader quality team to meet internal and external customer requirements and audit requirements.
* Budget / Resources: Monitor production spend on budget vs actual; review variances and recommend/prepare capital expenditure proposals.
* Continuous Improvement: Develop and establish strategies to continuously improve the site's standards and output; ensure delivery of NPD trials and projects to capitalise on business opportunities.
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership position within a similar role on a site in Australia.
* Diploma level or higher in manufacturing, engineering or related disciplines.
* Full, unlimited working rights in Australia.
* In-depth knowledge of production planning; previous FMCG experience is an advantage.
* Thorough understanding of HACCP and GMP in a manufacturing environment.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey ideas clearly and tailor messages to different audiences.
* Proficiency with technical applications such as production automation, data entry and using software to access project data, track budget information and design processes.
* Excellent understanding of OEE and the ability to use metrics to track operation effectiveness across different shifts.
* Ability to develop and manage projects utilizing technological solutions; strong leadership to motivate and empower team members.
* Commitment to safety and the ability to promote a culture of safety; strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
* Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to work in a rural country town close to a major city.
