A unique opportunity is available for an experienced Windows Engineer to support a high‑profile government program. This position requires a single dedicated specialist with deep expertise in Windows-based software development, system administration, and supporting technologies. The successful candidate will work directly with the Product Manager and operate autonomously, providing technical leadership and hands‑on engineering capability throughout the contract period. Candidates relying on shared services or team‑based delivery models will not be considered.

Your day at NTT
* The engineer develops and maintains Windows‑based software solutions using Microsoft development tools to meet evolving project requirements.
* The role involves creating, deploying and managing Windows SOE images via PXE to ensure consistent and secure system builds.
* The engineer writes, tests and optimizes PowerShell scripts to automate operational tasks and streamline system administration workflows.
* The position requires configuring and maintaining Group Policy to enforce security, compliance and operational standards across the environment.
* The engineer troubleshoots complex issues across Windows, Linux and virtualized systems, including diagnosing and resolving code defects written by others.
* The role includes providing technical advice to stakeholders, ensuring recommendations align with broader business requirements.
What would make you a good fit for this role?
* The candidate demonstrates more than eight years of software development experience, with strong capability in Windows‑focused engineering.
* The role requires proven experience with CI/CD technologies such as GitLab Actions to support automated build and deployment pipelines.
* The engineer brings hands‑on expertise with KVM virtualization, OpenStack environments and associated infrastructure components.
* The position demands proficiency with Ansible for configuration management and automation across mixed‑platform environments.
* The candidate must have strong knowledge of Active Directory, ADFS and SharePoint administration to support identity, access and collaboration services.
* The role requires the ability to travel at short notice to our client's units across Australia to support operational requirements.
*Engineers experienced with Layer 2/3 networking configuration and management, Deployable communications and information systems (CIS). Systems engineering processes, Agile project delivery environments, Linux host development, customization and administration plus additional scripting languages such as Bash and Python will be highly regarded*
