* Our client is a growing Brisbane-based engineering and technical services company delivering electrical and control systems projects across manufacturing, industrial refrigeration, fuel terminals, mining and general industry.
* Their engineers stay closely involved with projects from design through to commissioning, supported by an experienced in-house electrical and technical team.
* Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to support industrial automation projects.
About the Role
* This is a hands‐on automation role focused on PLC programming, control systems integration and commissioning.
* You will work across the full lifecycle of projects, from design and configuration through to testing and troubleshooting in the field, while mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement industrial control systems and automation solutions
* Develop and configure PLC and SCADA systems (Siemens or Rockwell preferred)
* Prepare functional specifications, work packs and engineering documentation
* Support commissioning, troubleshooting and system upgrades on site
* Integrate PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation and industrial networks
* Participate in FAT, SAT and site testing activities
* Work closely with technicians and electricians during installation
* Mentor junior engineers and review technical deliverables
* Assist with technical scoping and project planning

* Travel: Mostly local site visits with occasional regional travel

About You
* 6–10+ years experience in industrial control systems or automation engineering
* Strong PLC programming experience
* Experience with SCADA or HMI platforms
* Hands‐on commissioning and troubleshooting experience
* Ability to interpret electrical drawings and engineering documentation
* Comfortable working directly with site teams and technicians
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics or similar)
* RPEQ, CPEng, or working toward registration preferred
* Valid driver's licence
* Full Australian working rights required
Nice to Have
* Ignition SCADA experience
* Hazardous area exposure
* Experience in mining, manufacturing or industrial facilities
* Exposure to technical scoping or project estimation
