The opportunity:
This is a critical senior leadership role within a large, complex consumer-facing organisation undergoing significant change. The focus is practical and operational: strengthening the first line control environment, improving consistency across processes, and ensuring the business is resilient, compliant, and audit‑ready. You will sit close to the business, partnering with senior leaders to uplift how controls actually operate day to day. This is not a policy or advisory role. It is about ownership, execution, and outcomes.
What you’ll be responsible for
Owning the Consumer controls and compliance agenda as a first line leader
Uplifting control design, documentation, evidence, and effectiveness across key consumer processes
Maintaining clear oversight of operational risk exposures, registers, and audit readiness
Leading incident investigation, root cause analysis, and delivery of balanced corrective actions
Driving accountability with senior leaders and embedding consistent control behaviours
Delivering concise, decision‑ready reporting to senior leadership and governance forums
Building and leading a high‑performing controls and compliance team
What you’ll bring
Proven experience leading controls, governance, or compliance in a large, complex organisation
Strong background in first line controls, operational risk, or business governance
Demonstrated success uplifting control environments and reducing control failures
Hands‑on experience managing incidents, remediation, and audit interactions
Credibility and confidence engaging with senior executives and governance forums
A practical mindset focused on improving how the business actually operates
Strong people leadership and the ability to lift team capability and performance
