**Your new role**:
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, Maritime Acquisition, you will be responsible for execution of the logistics strategy for the Hunter Program to support materials and equipment delivery for the Hunter Program (and future programs). This is a critical role that will develop and deploy the appropriate strategy, enabling a cost effective and continuous logistic solution for both the Hunter Program and future Programs.
This high profile key role will ensure the logistics strategy provides an end-to-end Logistics lifecycle solution. From receipt of Supply Chain generated demand, forecasting, Logistics, Despatch, Warehousing, Inbound Inventory and Materials Management, ongoing performance management of the Logistics lifecycle is paramount.
More specifically, you will
- Work closely with BAES Australia business, to develop synergies and optimise the logistics solution across the ASC Shipbuilding and BAES business in country.
- Work closely with Naval Ships to agree touchpoints and hand over arrangements for the Hunter Class Frigate Programme.
- Develop, own and drive the overarching team delivery plan. Define measures, milestones, dependencies, key performance indicators and internal service delivery agreements to enable delivery.
- Develop and deploy the warehouse strategy for the program and oversee provision of the facility to coincide with build activity.
- Develop and deploy logistics strategy within the shipyard to ensure materials / equipment's are delivered to work faces just in time, in accordance with the Hunter Program schedule.
- Commercial management and execution of logistic related sub-contracts (where appropriate), including management of supplier deliverables, contract change activities and fulfilment of documented deliverables.
- Performance manage people, process and suppliers (in the logistics space). Provision of sub-contracted facilities, including management and oversight of suppliers in terms of performance and budget.
- Work with planning to optimise the logistics solution against the requirements of the schedule. Ensure system in place to track location of materials and confirm when fitted in the ship.
- Establish systems that provide continuous supply of consumable materials to the place of work
- Programme and business review attendance as required, including logistics performance and financial information.

About you
**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:
- Extensive experience in senior management role with warehousing and yard operations in a heavy and complex manufacturing environment including clear understanding of Defence security & Export Controls
- Exceptional leadership and influencing skills with the ability to use multiple leadership styles to motivate performance and engage the workforce to manage through change
- Proven experience in understanding of materials management lifecycle from demand to consumption
- An ability to lead a large, dispersed and diverse team to achieve objectives and targets
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
