SYPAQ is seeking a Business / Systems Analyst to join our team for a long-term opportunity commencing in May based at DSTG Edinburgh. Working within Defence supporting Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems. As the Business Systems Analyst you will provide capability outcomes by translating operational, mission data lifecycle, and business requirements into effective, secure, and compliant information system solutions. The role acts as a critical interface between system users and technical teams.
Responsibilities
* Engage with Defence stakeholders to analyse, and document business, technical, and operational requirements.
* Analyse existing Defence systems, processes, and data flows to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Develop functional and non-functional specifications, system models, process maps, and interface definitions in accordance with Defence architecture frameworks.
* Support the design, integration, and modernisation of tools and systems.
* Ensure system solutions comply with Defence policies, standards, security requirements, and governance frameworks.
* Participate in system lifecycle activities, including requirements reviews, design assurance, testing, user acceptance, and transition to operations.
* Support data integrity, reporting, and performance monitoring to enable informed decision making by program lead and senior stakeholders.
* Assist with change management activities, including impact assessments, stakeholder communication, and preparation of training or user documentation.
* Provide analytical support for system issues, enhancements, and defect resolution in operational and sustainment environments.
* Maintain requirements traceability, decision records, and impact assessments to support governance and safe incremental delivery.
* Analyse end-to-end workflows and data flows, identifying integration dependencies, data quality risks, and opportunities for automation.
* Define measurable acceptance criteria and support testing/UAT aligned to operational workflows and compliance needs.
About You
* Minimum Current NV1 Security Clearance (NV2 Preferred)
* Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience as a Systems Analyst, preferably within Defence, or a similarly regulated environment.
* Experience supporting logistics, sustainment, asset management, command and control, or ERP systems is highly desirable.
