Senior Resident Medical Officer - Critical Care Medicine
A position is available for a Senior Resident Medical Officer - Critical Care Medicine at Orange Health Service. This is a 12 month, four term position, with six (6) months accredited Emergency Medicine experience, three (3) months Anaesthetics experience and three (3) months Intensive Care Medicine experience. The objective is to offer a rotational post, providing complementary experience for trainees wishing to develop a base line practical skill set for the management of critically unwell patients.

Focusing on innovative models of care, Orange Health Service is the largest rural hospital in NSW and the regional teaching, referral and trauma centre for the Central West. The 520 bed campus has a 150 bed general hospital, with five operating suites and 60 specialised treatment areas.
Opened in 2011, services include FACEM-staffed emergency, inclusive of trauma; level 5 intensive care, medical, general and specialist surgical; obstetrics; paediatrics; level 4 maternity; dialysis; dental; cardiology, stroke, telestroke, interventional cardiology; radiation oncology; ambulatory care; rehabilitation; sub-acute/non-acute; diagnostic and a range of primary and community health services.
The hospital has one of the largest regional clinical trials units conducting a range of trials (incl tele‐trials and phase 1 trials) across a several specialties.

Essential Requirements
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
* Completion of at least two (2) postgraduate years of medical practice.
* Valid NSW Working with Children check.
* Cleared National Police check.
* Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions.
* To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.
* You must take all reasonable care for yourself and others and comply with any reasonable instruction, policies and procedures relating to work health safety and wellbeing.
To Apply, Please Address The Following Selection Criteria
* Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
* Successful completion of PGY1 and PGY2 years, including terms in Emergency Medicine and ideally Intensive Care or Anaesthetics with a minimum of 12 months experience working within the Australian public health care system within the previous 24 months.
* Demonstrated orientation to rural/regional practice through life experiences, medical school and/or residency, outlining evidence of commitment to the provision of health care in a rural setting, preferably with experience of rural or regional medicine.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Effective oral, written and computer skills and demonstrated good organisational time management skills.
* Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education.
* Ability and willingness to deliver patient care and preparedness and ability to participate in a shift and on-call roster.
