Position: Port Operations Support Officer (Darwin, NT)
We invite you to join Wilhelmsen Port Services (Australia) Pty Ltd as a permanent full‐time Port Operations Support Officer in Darwin. The role is newly created and supports vessel operators, operational activities, and management functions across the Port of Darwin.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide broad operational and administrative support across the business, coordinating between vessel operations, stakeholders, port activities, and management.
* Assist daily operations, project/task coordination, communication, compliance, and overall operational efficiency.
* Support daily port and agency operations through office administration, documentation handling, and system data entry.
* Board vessels and execute documentation signing at terminals, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Prepare and maintain vessel line‐up updates, vessel setup, cargo documentation, and customs‐related entries.
* Handle vessel booking and clearance processes, routine documentation execution and signing.
* Coordinate logistics such as crew and technical personnel travel, accommodation, and transport arrangements.
* Perform general administrative duties: routine banking, postal and courier services, and broader operational coordination.
* Process and verify invoices, maintain accurate records in internal systems such as WASP and MARS, and support daily operational reporting.
* Ensure data integrity, timely system updates, and alignment of operational activities with financial documentation.
* Perform occasional out‐of‐hours work as required by operational and vessel scheduling needs.
Qualifications & Skills
* Valid Australian work permit and driver's licence.
* Eligibility for a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
* Self‐motivated, results‐driven with a passion for excellence.
* Prior shipping industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the right attitude.
* Attention to detail and administrative proficiency.
* Good computer skills and adaptability under pressure.
* Ability to meet deadlines and approach challenges as growth opportunities.
