The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Team Leader in our Energy Services team based in Port Kembla. As part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The Energy Services department is essential to the steel production process, serving as the centralized hub for power generation from our boiler and turbine plant. Energy Services also provide the distribution of power and services across our Port Kembla manufacturing facilities.
In this role, you will lead a multi-skilled Electrical team focusing on providing Electrical Maintenance requirements for a wide range of domestic and natural gas fired boilers and rotating equipment involving but not limited to steam turbine driven alternators, air compressors and axial blowers. To ensure operational productivity and asset preservation targets are achieved, you'll provide technical expertise on challenges with our equipment and manage the team's success through their performance and productivity to ensure our business plan objectives and targets are continually met.
You will also act as an interface for our major capital projects; supporting the site construction and managing the site commissioning phase and maintenance works as a part of a multidisciplinary engineering and construction team delivering major projects across the Energy services department.
What Will You Do?
* ensure safety standards are never compromised, making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified.
* maintain asset performance and collaborate with team members to improve equipment performance, capability, and costs.
* supervise, mentor and develop a team of electrical coordinators and trade personnel to enhance their capabilities.
* act as the interface for industrial capital projects, and manage the commissioning phase with the assistance of your team.
* supervise maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence.
* manage asset maintenance and improvement strategies aligned to Energy Services objectives.
* build effective relationships with our Engineering Team to drive the continuous reliability of our assets.
More About You
* tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Trade
* an electrical licence
* a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself, your team and others
* experience working in a similar industry within Electrical Maintenance, with a strong focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability
* proficient experience with PLCs and motor control systems
* experience in maintenance coordination and collaboration with multiple internal and external customers
* a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop others to enhance capability
