Classification and Compensation

Classification: ANU Officer 6/7 (Administration)

Salary package: $98,387-$113,252 per annum (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

Terms: Part-time (up to 0.6FTE), Continuing (contingent funded)

This position is continuing (contingent funded). The funding that supports this project has an expected end date of 31 December 2029.

Position Overview

RadInnovate aims to build new capabilities for nuclear science and radiation by training the next generation of transdisciplinary leaders through integration of core science, technology, regulation, governance, and societal values. RadInnovate is led by ANU in partnership with Adelaide University, and with 15 industry and government partners on co‐designed research projects in nuclear science, technological innovation, and regulatory and social responsiveness, to equip Australian industries with a future‐ready workforce.

As the Communications and Engagement Officer, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer, who leads a small team of professional staff that support the operations of RadInnovate and work in close collaboration with the Director of the Training Centre, Professor Mahananda Dasgupta, across both universities, our partner organisations, and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About the role

The role will work in a collaborative manner to develop, implement and monitor the communication and stakeholder engagement activities of RadInnovate. You will also support the events essential to building the Training Centre's research community.

You are expected to work quickly, communicate clearly, and excel at building strong relationships. You will be confident and adaptable in engaging students, early‐career researchers, senior researchers, and industry partners, and in collaborating with subject‐matter experts. Your energy, organisation and ability to deliver outcomes in a complex and dynamic environment will support our success.

Experience in communications, content management, media, and event management is highly regarded, as is knowledge or experience working in a scientific research environment.
