Lead the development of strategic policy and resourcing advice to inform the financial policy reforms within the emergency management sector. Ongoing, Full-Time Opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service VPS Grade 5: $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation. The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Strategic Financial Analyst to provide a critical role within Entity Reform About the Business Unit Emergency Management, within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department) works closely with government and agencies across the emergency management portfolio. The group is led by the Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management. Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities and statutory entities and offices. Entity Reform branch works with Victoria's emergency services organisations, government agencies and key stakeholders to coordinate and deliver the government's reform agenda. Key functions of the branch include working with partner agencies to coordinate work programs across relevant reform initiatives to ensure effective implementation, and where required, delivering, or facilitating and contributing to the delivery of, defined work packages and products. About the Role Some of your duties will include: Manage and maintain workplace culture and practices that achieve DJCS Emergency Management's strategic objectives, including: contributing to the development and implementation of the annual business plan in line with strategic priorities participating in the PDP process, ensuring goals are meaningful and measurable and compliance with all requirements contributing to a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and actively promote a positive and respectful culture across DJCS Emergency Management maintaining compliance with all governance requirements. Contribute to the sector wide financial program of reform, including leading the development of high-quality analysis, working with complex data and providing innovative budget and financial advice to senior management, key stakeholders and the Minister through presentations, strategic reports and briefing products. Lead the delivery of projects, including managing work priorities, set objectives and delivering outcomes in a responsive manner in a fast paced environment. Lead the identifications issues and risks to provide timely, accurate and succinct advice to the senior management, including on developing options and strategies relevant achieve reform outcomes. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated achievement in the development and provision of strategic policy, budgetary/financial and resource management advice to senior management, including identifying emerging financial management issues, forming strategic solutions and providing strategic advice in a complex government environment. Demonstrated ability to apply expertise to complex and non-routine data in order to develop complex reports, briefings, recommendations and alternative solutions. Demonstrated experience in provision of strategic policy and resourcing advice to senior management, including writing of briefs, submissions and other artefacts. Demonstrated knowledge of government and Victoria's emergency management arrangements (desirable).
