Barwon Coast is looking for a Building Maintenance Officer, this position plays an important role at Barwon Coast in delivering repairs, updates and new builds to infrastructure at our Caravan parks across the Barwon Coast.
Who we are: Barwon Coast cares for 22km of coastline on the southern Bellarine Peninsula and to fund that work, operates 3 caravan parks and a seasonal campground in Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Breamlea.
About the Role: The Building Maintenance Officer will be responsible for:
* General Maintenance, scheduled and preventative maintenance works to accommodation facilities, buildings, toilet blocks and other assets, which may include, hanging doors, installing door hardware, installing plasterboard, repairing ceilings, flooring, etc
* Repairs and maintenance to open space assets including beach access stairs, viewing platforms, balustrading and open space furniture.
* Participate in the developing of seasonal building maintenance asset renewal works programs.
* Ensure equipment used are regularly inspected, kept in safe working order, cleaned maintained and following use secured.
* Ensure the proper and safe use and storage of all materials, consumables and equipment
* Assist in the continuous improvement of Barwon Coast assets by identifying and implementing quality improvement processes.
* Ensure customer requests are noted and responded to as matters of priority, notifying the Supervisor of serious customer concerns or urgent maintenance issues as a matter of urgency
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* A background working in a carpentry trade or equivalent experience.
* “Hands on” practical building maintenance skills.
* Ability to operate plant and building maintenance tools safely (including Hand and power tools).
* Knowledge of relevant building, current building regulations and legislation
* Competence in the use of equipment, reading and interpreting plans, specifications and contract documents is desirable
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
