An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced Clinical Midwifery Educator to join the Midwifery team at a private hospital in Hobart. It is a permanent Part-Time position (24hrs per fortnight).
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As a Clinical Midwifery Educator, you will be delivering clinical learning to Midwives and acting as a resource person to support all staff, with a particular emphasis on Student Midwives, graduates and new staff. Your responsibilities will include participating in the planning process for the education and training strategy for the department, providing clinical teaching activities that demonstrate the principles of adult learning and reflective practice, assisting in the development and delivery of educational programs to staff that lead to the achievement of nursing competency in relevant clinical activities, assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of Student Midwives, Graduate Midwives and new staff within the clinical setting and facilitating and supporting the assessment of clinical competence within the framework of the ANMC Competency Standards.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in all areas of Midwifery, including antenatal, post-natal and birth suite;
- Previous experience in an education/training role is desirable but not essential;
- Ability to develop and deliver clinical education and training;
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills;
- A desire to join a committed team;

- Compliance with ACQSHC National Standard;

**ABOUT THE FACILITY**
The hospital, located in Hobart, is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds providing a unique range of acute services, including general surgery, specialty care in orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, breast, colorectal, oral, vascular, plastics, obesity surgery, and select surgery for paediatrics. The Maternity suites are designed on the contemporary labour/deliver/recover model, fitted with state-of-the-art technology, including K2 fetal monitoring systems, and provide various resources used during childbirth.
