About the opportunity
As Manager (Processing & Middle Mile), you will provide impactful leadership across a portfolio of large, geographically dispersed processing and middle‑mile facilities, including Australia Post, StarTrack Express and StarTrack Premium operations in Queensland.
This role sits at the intersection of operational excellence, network transformation and safety. You’ll lead large front‑line teams through exciting innovation, including automation, robotics and new facility builds, while maintaining service reliability and strong safety outcomes.
What you’ll deliver with us
Reporting to the GM Processing & Middle Mile, you will partner closely with Network Operations, First & Last Mile, Transport and Enterprise teams to optimise network performance.
Your success will be measured by sustained improvements in safety, DIFOT contribution, productivity, cost performance and engagement across complex, multi‑function facilities, which will be realised through our investment in technological advancements.
You’ll also:
* Provide overarching site accountability for large, hybrid facilities, ensuring standardisation, asset utilisation and operational discipline.
* Drive the implementation of major transformation initiatives including automation, robotics and new facility builds.
* Embed Lean in standard operating practices to lift productivity and consistency.
* Champion the practical application of digital, data and AI‑enabled tools (network tracking) to improve decision making and performance across our logistics network.
* Build a strong safety‑first culture across all facilities, with rigorous risk management and continuous improvement.
About you
You are a commercially minded, people‑centred operational leader with deep experience in large‑scale, industrialised environments. You are comfortable leading through ambiguity, bringing structure, pace and clarity while supporting people through significant change.
Your proactive influence across functions balances enterprise priorities with site‑level realities, and you role‑model inclusive, safety‑focused leadership.
You’ll also bring:
* Senior operational leadership experience in processing, logistics, manufacturing, FMCG or complex production and industrial environments.
* Experience delivering major transformation initiatives, including automation and technology uplift.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in supply chain, engineering or business management (highly desirable).
How we’ll deliver for you
* The opportunity to lead in Australia Post’s most innovative transformation journey.
* Exposure to enterprise‑scale automation, technology and network transformation.
* Genuine influence shaping national network performance.
* Leadership development, flexibility and career growth within a purpose‑led organisation.
