Purpose
The role of the Overhaul & Projects Coordinator is to manage the ongoing overhauls, modifications and collision repairs for the Melbourne LRV fleet. They are to coordinate the flow of work into and out of the overhaul facility site(s), including the liaison with sub-suppliers to ensure that the overhauls are carried out in a timely manner so not to affect fleet operations.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
Work closely with Maintenance Planning and Supply Teams to ensure an optimum and harmonised overhaul plan taking into account rotable and supplier limitations.
Work closely with the Supply Team to ensure common approach to supplier management and communication.
Ensure that suppliers conform to the Purchase Order Terms & Conditions.
Monitor planning team to ensure fleet km stagger for Smoothing and alignment of maintenance & overhaul Plans
Support development and implementation of overhaul specifications (scope of work) for major components based on results of risk analysis, specifications, vehicle condition (ie. condition monitoring) and financial constraints.
Forward Planning Requirements for Overhaul, Modification & Collision Repair Planning and use of schedules against Contract Deliverable
Assist in the planning of material required for Overhaul, Modification & Collision Repair Planning.
Liaise with Procurement team and Suppliers on Overhaul, Modification & Collision Repair Planning, scopes and turnaround times.
Audit internal and external suppliers performing Overhaul, Modification & Collision Repair Planning to ensure scopes are being following and quality of work is acceptable.
Support overhaul cost benefit and risk analysis for proposed solutions to assess their viability within the constraints of the contract and budget
Identify and implement a set of KPI's that can be used to monitor progress and productivity.
Raising Non-Conformances on substandard equipment from sub-suppliers.
Work with overhaul facility site(s) stores staff to ensure goods are dispatched and received in a timely manner to suit overhaul schedule.
Ensure all paperwork in relation to the overhaul is updated and that Maximo is updated with overhaul and serial number changes.
Assist Engineering with Monitoring of faults arising from overhauls components and report on any negative trends
Assist in Updating and monitoring of all databases used within the organization for overhauled components including the maintenance, fault, quality, and feedback databases.
Provide monthly reports to management on vehicle related issues, performance and improvement initiatives.
Assist in the management of the NCR process in Maximo for the project and assist with raising and issuing non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up to ensure timely action and closure.
Assist in Updating the Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS) with fault data or data arising from preventative maintenance.
Preparation of Asset Data (Serial numbers and Configuration) for new vehicles.
**Key Requirements**:
University qualified engineer in mechatronics, mechanical or electrical discipline or qualified maintenance planner with rail vehicle maintenance and operations experience
3 to 5+ years' experience in a Rolling Stock Fleet Operational environment preferred
Computer Literate in MS Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Access)
Able to use IT systems i.e. Maximo for data recording and management
Previous experience in vehicle maintenance, planning, overhauls and modifications
Application of preventative maintenance strategies based on failure predictions and other statistical tools.
A valuable understanding of standards, maintenance schedules, maintenance instructions, fault reports and other documents
Experience and understanding of the interface between electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment on rail vehicles
Required to satisfactorily pass pre-employment and on-going rail safety medicals.
