About the opportunity
This is a high‐impact leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of Mechanical Engineering within Humes. You will ensure that all mechanical items are designed, certified, and safe to operate across our national operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Innovative Design: Leading mould design and modification, as well as plant and equipment upgrades.
* Technical Leadership: Acting as the Holcim (Humes) RPEQ and RPEV.
* Safety & Standards: Ensuring all designs are safe to operate and maintain while updating internal standards to reflect best practices.
* Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing designs that are more efficient to construct and operate.

About You
We recognise that diverse experiences make our team stronger. While this role requires specific technical certifications, we value leadership and communication as much as engineering prowess.
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and MIEAust membership.
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
* Registered Practising Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and / or Victoria (RPEV).
* Valid Australian work rights.
Skills We Value (Even if you're still growing in these areas)
* Experience with Autodesk Products (ACAD, Inventor) and structural design.
* Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN or Six Sigma).
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster teamwork and cultivate relationships.
