The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Electronics Technician Manager to lead our repair lab. In this role, you won't just be managing a team; you will be at the workbench tackling complex PCB repairs, reverse-engineering module faults, and ensuring our lab operates at peak efficiency.
You will oversee the daily technical workflow, maintain quality control, and help push the boundaries of what we can test and repair in-house keeping economy of job in mind.
Key Responsibilities
* Hands-On Repair: Perform component-level diagnostics, micro-soldering, and PCB repair on automotive control modules (ECM, BCM, ABS, TCM, and HVAC units).
* Lab Leadership: Manage daily repair workflows, ensuring all modules move efficiently through our custom ERP tracking system from arrival to dispatch.
* Quality Assurance: Oversee the rigorous testing of repaired units using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and our custom V-Sim simulators.
* Team Development: Mentor and train junior technicians on schematic reading, fault-finding logic, and best practices for micro-soldering.
* Process Improvement: Collaborate with management to refine repair protocols, expand our catalog of serviceable units, and integrate new diagnostic technologies.
What We're Looking For
* Technical Expertise: Proven experience in component-level PCB repair of automotive control modules including micro-soldering, and reverse-engineering electronic circuits.
* Automotive Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive control modules such ECM, BCM, ABS and instrument cluster and networking (CAN-bus, LIN-bus). Experience with European and Australian domestic markets is a major plus.
* Leadership Experience: Previous experience managing a technical team, running a workshop, or leading a lab environment.
* Problem Solver: Ability to read complex schematics, diagnose undocumented faults, and operate advanced bench-testing equipment.
* Tech-Savvy: Comfortable adapting to custom software (ERPs, bespoke catalog managers) to track workloads and document repair procedures.
