Des's Group is a family owned business with experience in personal transport for nearly 60 years. It is versatile with its individual companies distributed throughout various locations in SA. Due to continuous growth, we have a requirement for an experienced Diesel or Light Vehicle Mechanic. Des's Group is an organisation that understands the importance of people and quality within its business and provides a unique opportunity for the right person to become an integral part of its friendly and supportive team. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager this position will have the responsibilities for the following: Provide a professional level of service in-line with company policies and procedures Deliver a high level of service providing a reliable maintenance program, in conjunction with repairs and breakdown support. Ensure smart working practices are followed to contribute to ensuring and maintaining a smooth running of the daily operations of the company/workshop Promote and portray a positive image for the Company To be helpful, polite knowledgeable and resourceful Provide and maintain a safe workplace in accordance with OHS policies and procedures To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes: Trade qualified Diesel or Light Vehicle Mechanic Has own reliable transport and tools Holds a current driver's license (LR class preferred but not essential) Demonstrates well-developed personal communication skills Has good record keeping skills Possess the ability to work in a team environment. Ability to prioritise work commitments Has the ability to listen and communicate well Demonstrates an ability to remain calm under pressure Has the ability to assist with apprentice training if required. Possesses a strong focus on Workplace Health and Safety and can show a proven safety record This is your opportunity to make your mark on the continued success of Des's Group In return you will be part of a family-owned business, who is dedicated to developing their people. Diesel or Light Vehicle Mechanic is a rewarding and responsible position within a growing dynamic company. The position is initially offered on a casual basis for the probation period of three months, at which time a review will be performed with the view to offering the position on a permanent basis to the right applicant.
