About The Opportunity
There's an excellent opportunity for a Senior Support System Engineer to join our team based in Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney. This role involves reporting directly to the Support System Lead and working closely with other project design and support teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system engineering activities, including requirements management, functional analysis, candidate solution development and integration. They'll also have knowledge of maritime/navy/ship building and systems engineering, electrical or communication electronics disciplines.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Develop and manage system requirements, models and documents (system and subsystem specifications, product breakdown structure, design documents, component specifications, interface specifications, MBSE artefacts etc.)
* Undertake system engineering activities in compliance with BAE Systems Australia Engineering Lifecycle as specified in the Business Management System (BMS), specifically requirements management, functional analysis, candidate solution development, system design, system analysis, integration, system tests, acceptance tests and certification
* Participate in system design and subsystem partitioning to achieve robust modular architectures
* Use domain, discipline and systems engineering understanding to ensure enabling, supporting and delivered products robustly and demonstrably meet their requirements and are fit for purpose
* Develop and execute system tests and agree component tests which will ensure that the implemented designs conform to their specifications
* With the support of component suppliers, integrate components in a logical manner to ensure that emergent properties and limitations are exposed and acceptable
A tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related field is required. Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a NV1 is required. Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations is required.
