**About the opportunity**
As Fleet Administration Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of NSW Health Pathology's vehicle fleet, which underpins the critical delivery of pathology services across Sydney, regional and rural NSW. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet management, from acquisition and utilisation through to maintenance, replacement planning and compliance. With a focus on safety, sustainability and operational continuity, this role offers the opportunity to lead improvements in fleet policy and practice while supporting the vital transport of pathology specimens that communities depend on every day.
Working closely with logistics, finance, regional directors and external providers, you will bring expertise in procurement, contract management and vehicle administration to deliver cost-effective and compliant outcomes. **What you'll be doing**
To ensure the NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP) Vehicle Fleet is maintained in an optimum state to provide for the safety and security of Drivers, Passengers and precious cargo across NSWHP Sydney South, East, West, Rural and Regional Operations.
Work with NSWHP Logistics Manager, Regional Directorates, Finance, Drivers and Customers to develop and administer NSWHP Fleet Policy in support of operational continuity, sustainability and optimising total operating cost outcomes. Ensure ongoing alignment of NSWHP Fleet Policy to related NSW Government, Health, Statutory and Industry best practice.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or a combination of qualifications and substantial experience in fleet management and operations, demonstrating a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the role.
- Proficient in corporate financial and administrative systems, with hands-on experience using fleet management and telematics platforms to support operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making
- Strong knowledge of the motor vehicle, fleet, and freight transport industries, with proven ability to engage effectively with suppliers, dealers, manufacturers, government bodies, contractors, and service providers. Familiar with industry tools and strategies that drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and insightful reports, option analyses, presentations, and briefings tailored to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with a strong track record in influencing, negotiating, and building productive networks across internal and external partners.
- Strong numeracy and financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and managing cost centre budgets to ensure financial accountability and performance.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing complex projects, meeting tight deadlines, and delivering high-quality outcomes with strong attention to detail and alignment to strategic objectives.
