Harrison McMillan is partnering with a reputable and growing metal fabrication business to recruit a reliable Trade Assistant to support on‑site installation works across Canberra and surrounding regions.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical, practical work on active sites and wants to build long‑term experience within the metal fabrication and construction industry.
About the Role
Working closely with an experienced Site Installer, you will assist with the installation of custom metalwork on commercial and residential sites, including:
* Assisting with installation of balustrades, handrails, gates, fencing, and structural steel
* Handling materials, tools, and equipment on site
* General labouring, fixing, and installation support
* Site preparation and clean‑up
* Following safety procedures and working to site requirements
This is a hands‑on, site‑based role suited to someone dependable who takes pride in their work.
What We’re Looking For
You will bring:
* Previous experience as a Trade Assistant or labouring role (construction or fabrication preferred)
* White Card (essential)
* Asbestos Awareness and Silica tickets (preferred or willingness to obtain)
* Driver’s licence and reliable transport
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
* A safety‑focused and positive attitude on site
