About the Role
This role will report directly to the Commercial and Estimating Manager along with supporting the estimating and tendering team of Bennco Group. You’ll be self-motivated and a dedicated team player who will enjoy providing timely and high-quality estimating and tender bid submission perpetration for to a growing business. As Construction Estimator you will be flexible and responsive, advising and assisting on a range of estimating and bidding to the team and wider company.
Position Requirements:
Experienced in all aspects of Commercial Estimating desirable: Building & construction, Refurbishments or renovation, Service installation and Minor civil works
Experienced in tender bid presentation
Ability to develop tender schedule/programme
Efficient in developing and execution of sub-contractor packages
Proven 5+ years experience in estimating (or similar)
Skilled in quantity take-offs with a digital plan reading software
Proficiency in estimating software(Simpro) or other, Microsoft (Excel) and Adobe Pro
Key responsibilities:
Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, and specifications
Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project scope
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Evaluate project risks and develop contingency cost plans
Prepare and submit tender documentation and bid proposals
Track actual costs and compare against estimates throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain a database of cost-related information and historical data
Collaborate with project/construction managers, supervisors, and clients to refine estimates
Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and new materials
