Talenza is supporting its client, a leading financial services organisation based in Brisbane, on their search for an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of key Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) initiatives -familiarity with risk and compliance initiatives within FinServices involving APRA, ASIC or AUSTRAC required.
This role will work closely with Senior leadership and SMEs to drive project execution across regulatory, risk management, and compliance uplift programs, ensuring alignment with organisational frameworks and industry obligations.
Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end delivery of GRC-related projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to required quality standards.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, budgets, and status reporting.
Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and Business teams to ensure effective scoping, impact analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and project governance forums.
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and interdependencies.
Ensure project documentation, controls, and governance meet internal standards and external regulatory expectations.
Monitor regulatory changes and ensure project activities align with compliance and risk frameworks.
Drive strong change management, communication, and adoption outcomes across impacted teams.
Manage vendor relationships where external partners or solutions are involved.
Work closely with Senior Leadership to ensure initiatives meets business objectives and strategies, reporting on updates as required.
Essential Requirements of the Candidate Proven experience as a Project Manager within financial services.
Demonstrated experience delivering GRC, regulatory, risk uplift, compliance or assurance-related projects.
Strong understanding of risk frameworks, compliance obligations, and regulatory environments (APRA, ASIC, CPS standards, etc.).
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation capabilities.
Experience working within structured project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid).
Relevant qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile certifications, or similar (advantageous).
