Job Details
The Department of Finance (Finance) is seeking to procure a Senior Software Engineer (Developer) EL1 Equivalent for the GovTEAMS Program Office. The GovTEAMS Developer must demonstrate front-end development skills with extensive experience in JavaScript and React (within a .Net environment) and knowledge of Azure and Office 365 for the GovTEAMS Program Office.
The GovTEAMS Developer will support the delivery, enhancement and maintenance of the GovTEAMS platform. The role will contribute to design, build and support of technical solutions that improve platform performance, functionality and user experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Developing enhancements to existing applications.
* Upgrading existing applications to latest version of React and upgrading NPM packages to resolve vulnerabilities.
* Upgrade the existing application authentication library from MS ADAL to MSAL.
* Development of React based components for both Teams and/or SharePoint.
* Refactor the existing applications to take advantage of recent React development patterns.
* Testing of developed applications and upgrades in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
* Providing advice internally regarding the GovTEAMS application and underlying infrastructure.
* Problem-solving, with the ability to see and solve issues before problems arise.
* Providing specialist technical support of escalated, critical, and unresolved issues related to the application and its processes.
Desirable Skills And Experience
* Experience with development of Microsoft Teams apps.
* Experience with the development of SharePoint webparts.
* Experience in the use of the Microsoft Graph API is an advantage.
* Experience in developing Web Applications in Microsoft Azure is an advantage.
* Knowledge of C# and .Net core (3.1+).
* Knowledge of ASP .Net (preferably ASP .Net Core).
* Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.
* Knowledge of developing secure applications (particularly in environments rated to PROTECTED).

The Department of Finance, through the Government Services Branch (GSB), delivers and manages GovTEAMS, a Whole-of-Government collaboration service with two Microsoft Office 365 tenancies. GovTEAMS enables secure collaboration across the Australian Public Service and trusted partners outside of government. The platform supports a broad user base across Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies, industry, and academia, and is a critical enabler of digital collaboration and modern workplace initiatives.
